Athletes with Disabilities

Athletes of all abilities are welcome at our Start Line.

Athletes with Disabilities (AWAD) Program

Pushrim*, Handcycle or Assisted Wheelchair athletes will register in the respective division when completing their entry.

Ambulatory athletes (permanent orthopedic, neuromuscular, visual, or other physical disability) will register in the age group division for the full or half marathon.

If you are an athlete who requires a Guide, you may NOT have more than two Guides to assist you in the race. Please contact the Athletes With Disabilities Coordinator for consideration of an exception to this rule via email: miamimarathonpara@gmail.com

Guides will register as such when completing their registration. Note:
1. Guides will receive a bib number, auxiliary guide bib, t-shirt, and finisher medal. Guides will not be timed/scored.
2. Guides receive a complimentary entry. Please contact Athlete Services to obtain the discount code for registration.
3. The name of the athlete who will be guided is required when registering.

If you are a part of a Athletes With Disabilities Group/Charity team, please refer to the Program Outline for rules. The Athletes With Disabilities Coordinator will be your point of contact from registration through race weekend.

*The Pushrim division is capped at 20 athletes total for the full and half combined.
