The area will be organized by alphabetical signs (A-Z) to facilitate meeting locations by name. When making plans to reunite with your loved ones, factor in the time that it will take you to go through the chute as well as an alternative meeting place planned if you are unable to locate them in the reunion area.

Course and medical personnel will track runners and record data to ensure updates for families on participant’s condition and/or whereabouts.

Exiting Bayfront Park

Biscayne Blvd will be closed from SE 1st St. to NE 3rd St. Athletes and attendees should walk north on Biscayne Blvd to NE 3rd St. in order to get around the closed Finish Line area.

Time Limits

In order to comply with event permits as per municipal requirements, the roads will gradually reopen to vehicular traffic. We require that participants be properly prepared and trained to complete the full marathon (26.2 miles/42 KM) within 7 hours (16 minutes per mile pace or 10 minutes per KM) after the last wave/corral begins.

Checkpoint
Marathon participants must reach the 12.8-mile mark within 3.5 hours in order to be allowed to continue, at which point participants will be encouraged to finish the half marathon.

Marathon cutoff policy summary:
• 3.5 hours for checkpoint
• 7 hours (16 minutes per mile or 10 minutes per KM) for the course and finish line.

There is no separate course cut off from the finish line cutoff. Once the back of the pack vehicle has caught up to a participant, their race is completed.

Transport to the Finish Line, located will be provided for participants unable to complete the race. A runner follow-up vehicle will be available throughout the course at the back of the pack, and will pick up any participants who are behind the pace of the bus.

Please note that after the 7-hour pace, participant support (e.g. aid and water stations, volunteers, course marshals, clocks, medical assistance, cross street protection, etc.) will not be available, and participants will be required to adhere to local pedestrian rules (move to curbsides, break down lanes, sidewalks, etc.). Medals and official finish times will be given to all finishers who complete the race within 7 hours.

*The cutoff times are based on chip time, not gun time, in consideration of the additional time it takes the start corrals to clear.

**These cutoff times are also based on industry benchmarks; a majority of the races throughout the U.S. implement similar policies.
