Registration Cancellation Policy
A link to this policy is included in the registration process, whereby participants must have indicated that they understand and accept the terms. Review the Registration Cancellation Policy outlined below for options should registrants not be able to participate in the race.
No Refunds
All fees are non-refundable.
Deferral
Receive a guaranteed spot into the following year’s race. Entry fees will not be refunded. A new registration must be completed for the following year’s race; entry fees apply.
Transfer
Transfer your entry to a non-registered athlete. Entry fees will not be refunded. A nominal fee will be applied to complete the transfer.
Registration changes must be made prior to the deadline on January 16, 2026 (11:59pm ET). See below for deferral/transfer steps to follow.
Important Notables
Deferrals are only valid for the following year in the same event, space permitting. No upgrades/downgrades/transfers permitted between the Marathon/Half and Tropical 5K, or vice versa.
Active duty and military personnel deployed or recalled may be refunded or deferred at no cost with proof of orders.
Pregnant and Postpartum mothers may be refunded or deferred at no cost with an authorized medical note.
Deferral and Transfer redemption deadlines apply.
No refunds or changes permitted on transactions over 365 days.
No refunds on add-on items, merchandise or donations; all purchases are final.
Life Time reserves the right, in its sole and complete discretion, to deny entry, to revoke the entry application of any applicant at any time, and/or to disqualify any individual from the Event. Those who violate our registration/racing policy may be disqualified and potentially banned from participating in this and/or any other Life Time Event.
Tropical 5K Registration Cancellation Policy

Transfer
Transfer your entry to a non-registered athlete. Entry fees will not be refunded. A nominal fee will be applied to complete the transfer.

Registration Changes
ALL CHANGES MUST BE COMPLETED/REQUESTED by Friday, January 16, 2026 (11:59 PM ET), unless otherwise noted. All change requests after the deadline will need to be made in person at the Expo during packet pick up. Change requests are not guaranteed, are limited based on capacity of the race at the time of request, and are first-come, first-served. Once the race takes place, no changes may be made to personal profile information (i.e. gender, category, DOB etc.)
Looking to change your Life Time Miami Marathon & Half race distance?
If you are choosing a race option that costs more than your original, you will be charged the difference in registration fees. There are no refunds for a lower cost race option. The last day for online changes is Friday, January 16, 2026 (11:59 PM ET). Registrants who wish to change their category/division within a distance must be completed by the Athlete Services team via email.
Once personalized bib printing for early registration is underway (cut-off date Sept. 30), please be aware that a distance-changed bib assignment will not be personalized and will not appear in your profile until the week before the races.
Looking to change to the Tropical 5K race?
Changes from the marathon/half distance to the 5K or vice versa are not permitted; registration for the Miami Marathon & Half are separate from the Tropical 5K.
Need to change your bio or contact information?
Please email our Athlete Services providing the old and new information to be updated – information like name spelling, date of birth, gender, email address, emergency contact, etc.
Looking to change your assigned start corral?
**Corral assignment is determined by Life Time and review will be based on availability**
Athletes are placed in start corrals based on their estimated pace time. If you have an updated race result within the last 12 months for consideration to be reassigned to an earlier corral, please email our Athlete Services with an image of race results showing your name, the event name, date, distance, and your finish time for consideration of a corral switch. (And remember that race day final times are the net of start and finish elapsed time regardless of corral placement.)
Email requests for corral changes will be taken until Friday January 16, 2026, after which corral review will ONLY take place in-person during Race Kit Pickup. Proof of race results within the past 12 months is required.

Deferrals
Deferrals allow a participant unable to attend this year’s event to defer their registration to the following year ONLY.
The deferral is applied only to the event in question – in this case, the Life Time Miami Marathon & Half OR the Tropical 5K. Deferrals can only be applied to the same event the following year and cannot be carried over multiple years.
Entry fees will not be refunded and a new registration including entry fees must be completed for the following year’s race. Your registration does NOT automatically roll over to the following year – you must officially register.
Deferrals must be completed prior to the deadline on Friday, January 16, 2026 (11:59pm ET).
- Log in to your ChronoTrack profile.
- Click on the “Upcoming” tab and navigate to the Miami Marathon race listing.
- Click on “Change Race”
- Select “Defer my registration”
- Click “Continue” and “Proceed to Checkout”
- Complete payment
IMPORTANT NOTE – You MUST complete the official registration process for the following year’s event using your unique code in order to complete the deferral.
Bib Transfer
You may officially transfer your race entry to another non-registered runner, space permitting.
Entry Transfers apply only to the event in question – in this case, the Miami Marathon & Half or Tropical 5K. Entry fees will not be refunded, and a nominal fee will be applied to complete the transfer – $40 Marathon/Half, $15 Tropical 5K.
Transfers must be made online following the steps below prior to the deadline on Friday, January 16 (11:59 PM ET).
Before you begin the transfer process, please note:
- Registrants will not be refunded/reimbursed for the original registration. Any transfer compensation must be arranged between the current registrant and the transfer recipient.
- Race organizers are not responsible for the terms of payment between parties in the transfer process and do not condone the resale of registrations at elevated prices.
- This policy is strictly available for race entry only. This policy does not apply to add-on purchases.
- There are no transfer fee refunds under any circumstances and transfers are not guaranteed.
- The current registrant will be charged a transfer fee to complete the transaction.
- The new recipient will receive an email to complete the transfer process initiated by the current registrant’s transfer request.
- A new bib will be assigned to the race entry recipient only after the new registration is complete online.
- Log in to your ChronoTrack profile.
- Click on the “Upcoming” tab and navigate to the Miami Marathon race listing.
- Click on “Change Race”
- Select “Transfer to another athlete”
- Enter the recipient athlete’s name and email address.
- Confirm transfer details and complete payment.
Any participant who transfers their race entry or race bib without following the above process will be removed from official race results and disqualified from participating in any future Life Time event.

It is important to note that Life Time is not involved in transactions between individuals. We do not endorse or guarantee the authenticity of race entries sold by individual users. We strongly recommend exercising caution and conducting thorough due diligence when purchasing race entries from other users.
